By ASN Staff • Jul 14th, 2009 • Category: Stoppage TimeMajor League Soccer unveiled the MLS All-Star First XI, the 11 players who received the most votes at their respective positions for the 2008 All-Star game with West Ham United (ASN, July 10, 2008).
Only two players from that list, New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph and LA Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, made the First XI this year. Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear, who heads this year’s MLS squad, will decide on starters and name additional players July 20. The MLS All-star Selection will face English Premiership side Everton FC at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah, on July 29.
