The victors

It took penalties but Real Salt Lake prevailed over the LA Galaxy Sunday night at Qwest Field in Seattle, winning their first MLS Cup title in their first appearance in the title match. RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando was the hero once more, saving two penalties and deservedly winning the 2009 MLS Cup MVP.

Kali Korbis has the happy recap from Utah.

Was such a great stadium, and Seattle were perfect hosts! Was fantastic to walk around the city grounds carrying a flag- and having any local cheer us on! What a game, and what a weekend!!!
