How Can You Determine The Value Of A Poker Blog?

By ASN Staff • Mar 23rd, 2010 • Category: Uncategorized

Reading poker blogs is a great way to pick up some information and some new poker tips for Omaha poker and other forms of the game as well. But, before you start taking advice, you need to determine the value of what you are reading!

The first way to determine the value of a poker blog is to look at the articles posted. If the most important article on their blog is about learning poker chip tricks or something like that, there is a good chance that they have nothing good to say, and that the rest of the content they provide will be hollow.

Most poker blog writers will at one time or another post some of their poker game hand histories for players to analyze or learn from. When this does happen, investigate their play very carefully. More often than not, these hand histories will show a bunch of common errors, and you will be able to tell right away that this player has no idea what they are doing.

If you are an avid reader of a poker blog, it is of upmost importance to actually determine that the person who is writing the blog is a profitable player and you are not taking in incorrect information. With the advent of the Internet and the popularity of blogs, anyone can become a poker “expert” if they have a little time and an imagination. You want to avoid these types – stick with the poker blogs of profitable online poker players!
